The Photographic Sense Travels: Dives the Maldives

divescover

DIVES the Mal(DIVES). The whole idea of building up a continuation towards ‘Maldivian Gypsy’ is to expose something more than the fashion-elevated, culturally implemented theme of the Maldivian, but this time, include a whole new perspective of the Maldives through my eyes. Being on a single island, surrounded by the deep blue, the magical experience carries on wit the waves. Sleepless nights with the waves of the Indian Ocean building up a natural formation of a symphony and a melody, Feeding Butterfly Fishes, sightseeing bats as if they were birds across the horizon, and feeding sting rays and sharks with a cocktail on the other hand.

What invites an urge and excitement to people to go to the Maldives, is highly affected by the deep blue. The ocean might be the same as any other, but the perspective one can obtain from the Maldives is just exquisite, and beautiful in it’s own Maldivian way. There’s something about the Tiffany Blue hue-d ocean dancing through the clean white sand, approaching a part of the resort so sweetly, as if the day never ended in the best way. There’s something about the sun hitting the tanned-skin on a bright day, allowing the skin to be sun-kissed like never before.

Don’t you find it odd how when you have Red and Blue, Red just usually pops up like a fire to water, it’s explosive excitement just brings the spark to some a lot more than the blue, and the ocean. However, truthfully, there are more water than volcanoes, and that an attack by water is a lot more possible. It’s non-harmful feature gives an understated, less anticipated effect towards people’s minds. That’s the danger of it.

However, if you see it from the more beautiful perspective, the blue has a restless,  never ending sense of beauty. The less dominant, yet dominance it gives just swallows up the rest of the view, it’s connection to blue’s siblings, in shades of green is just an exceptional, dominant color, and it’s powers on the world are questionable. The water dominates not only the human body, but the whole world.

These pictures, basically, express the beauty of the Maldivian Ocean in a whole new set of perspectives, from the softest, almost white toned behavior to the strongest limelight-shone teal possible, it is as if there’s a different Goddess in command every part of the occurrence. The ocean is itself, a planet of such joy and enigma, such passion and life, it gives the feeling of wanting to relax yourself forever in it. It is the form of forming a contagious feeling of both joy and beauty.

Every night, around 3 a.m. I would end up waking up due to the songs of the waves, with such beauty and fury, the inspiration flowing from it is just massive. It’s a different type of loving and craving, as if you were a Siren in need of a swim (truthfully I was reading Tidal from the Watersong Series by Amanda Hocking-which is about Sirens), as if the ocean invites you to the excitement of the danger, which is the beautiful part. It just gives this strong, anthemic and passionate view towards the blue.

Maldives is like a prize, it’s like a gift for all of your hard work, it’s something you deserve from creating art, as it is one of Nature’s finest arts. The palate of the universal blue, however, wets the whole oil paint onto a beautiful water color palate dripped canvas. It is a whole new level of just islands, it’s a whole new level of just luxury. It’s a part of paradise, like, a chunk of it.

What I just love about the ocean on the resort is that you get a feeling of both luxury and ocean on a bundle. Just going out from the back door of the water villa, the view of clarity and beauty of the blue, stretching to the horizon like there’s no end. Is beyond exquisite. But in the same time, the posh, and the polished edges, the traditional-mixed luxury blended into a traditional yet minimalistic and modern view just gives the impression that lasts, a luxurious outtake on living in somewhat a deserted island. It gives a taste of a craving for salt water as soon as salt water is absent.

It’s as if sitting on a fishnet seat on the edge, facing to the ocean is just a normal book reading day, or viewing the peach-lit sunset from the top of the villa, framed by the beautiful mahogany colored triangular models. And going for a casual swim with the turtles and the spectrum-dazed marine organisms is just like hitting the pool. Quoting a friend, “You just see things you don’t usually see  here” is probably the best summary of why the ocean just captured my heart throughout.
I would be a seashell or a manta ray for a day If I could, there’s just something about surfing the ocean, with it’s marine life being conserved. There are even conservation areas and breeding areas on 4 Seasons. As if living between the nature can be luxurious without harming it extensively, marking a beautiful perspective from it.

Just visiting the Maldives gives me the idea of wanting to conserve and simply beautify my country, since it’s tropical characteristics are the same, Maldives has only been a great inspiration to invite tourism to my country, the way they portray the oceans and the hospitality, the nature and it’s conservation is beyond the blue.

I mentioned that it was my Summer Home for 2013, I do clarify it here again, that the reason it feels just homey, apart from the hospitality I mentioned on Maldivian Gypsy, is just the colors and the ecstasy of the nature. It’s just an addiction, like a hopeless romantic sort of craving-type. The waters isn’t just refreshing, it’s rejuvenating. It’s not as sweet as honey, but sweeter than the royal jelly.

These pictures are mostly of my mother, Diana Putri, and her friend, and my aunt, Patricia Santoso, these women are the ones I photograph to help portray the beauty of Maldives and how it feels like to dissolve in it’s salt water, Diving its malDIVES, an artistic implementation of admiration of joy, all of these pictures portray 4 Seasons in Landaa Giraavaru(sorry I mentioned Baa Atool earlier), and Shangri-La in Villingili. Everyone included in this trip has been so lovely throughoutly, which I will post more about on the next, and final portfolio, including my OOTDs on a Resort-Themed Portfolio. Sorry on the late posts of Maldives since schools a drag and I can only work on shorter portfolios, and my next one on the blog will be Electra Heart-themed. Stay tuned UNIONS! Anyways, I’m visiting Jakarta on New Year’s and Singapore on early January, perhaps arrange a blogger meet up? Line me or Instagram me @reinhardtkenneth
